SP emphasises robust security arrangements at Ganesh immersion sites in Prakasam

Following Vinayaka Chaturthi festivities, Prakasam District Superintendent of Police (SP) V. Harshavardhan Raju inspected Ganesh Nimajjanam (immersion) sites along the beaches of Kothapatnam and Pakala on Tuesday. He emphasised on robust security arrangements at the immersion sites, and instructed the police officials to take all necessary precautionary measures to prevent any untoward incidents.Speaking to the media, he said, “Surveillance has been maintained at immersion sites using drones and CCTV cameras. Security personnel and special police teams were also deployed for traffic control and devotee safety to ensure the Ganesh idol immersion process in the coastal areas proceeded peacefully and safely.”The SP said that the idol immersions would be conducted at the specified times, and precautionary measures would be taken to ensure that devotees do not venture deep into the sea and small children do not enter it. Safety instructions and guidelines related to the immersion were given to the public through the public address system.He revealed that instructions were issued to ensure the availability of expert swimmers, warning boards, interceptor boats, lights, life jackets, and country boats at the immersion sites. He stated that measures were also taken to ensure expert swimmers were easily identifiable by providing them with special T-shirts.
