Southwest Airlines Passenger Says Flight Attendant Quit After Crew Fight—Pilot Called It ‘Personality Differences’

A Southwest Airlines passenger says a flight attendant quit after a verbal argument with fellow cabin crew in front of the whole plane. She says passengers were then told a flight attendant was sick—before the pilot came on and offered a different explanation: “personality differences.” This was Southwest flight 557 from Dallas Love Field to Kansas City on Friday, November 6. The passenger began complaining while the flight was still on the ground. By 4:39 p.m., she identified the flight number and airport and said they’d been waiting two hours. A screenshot of her account shared on Reddit adds, “ONE QUIT ONE ASKED TO LEAVE!” She describes the argument taking place in front of passengers, followed by an announcement that the flight attendants were sick. Then, according to her, the pilot said: NOT SURE WHY THEY SAID THAT BUT WE HAD PERSONALITY DIFFERENCES @SouthwestAir FLIGHT 557 the flight attendants were full out arguing with each other. They announced a flight attendant was sick AFTER WE ALL WATCHED THE FIGHT! Now the pilot says “PERSONALITY DIFFERENCES” WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK — Jenni From De Bloc (@dualczn) November 6, 2026 She also acknowledges a maintenance issue, but says it was resolved about ten minutes after boarding. She attributes the extended wait to the crew dispute. The Boeing 737-700, registration N255WN, was scheduled to leave Dallas at 2:25 p.m. It took off at 5:12 p.m. and landed in Kansas City at 6:16 p.m., 2 hours and 21 minutes late. Losing a required flight attendant means finding a replacement before the plane can leave. And if crew members can’t work together, sending them off to handle an emergency together would have been… problematic.. Last year, United replaced an entire cabin crew after two flight attendants got into a dispute in Des Moines. Replacing people may be necessary. Arguing in front of customers, then giving them an explanation the pilot contradicts, is a also a choice. The Southwest aircraft continued from Kansas City to Nashville and then Knoxville that evening. It didn’t land in Knoxville until 10:47 p.m. Eastern, two hours and 12 minutes late.
