Settlement approved in class action over Google location tracking

SAN FRANCISCO — The Ninth Circuit upheld a California federal court’s decision to grant final approval of a settlement reached between class representatives and Google, which allegedly violated users’ privacy rights by continuously tracking their location and storing that data even after users switched off their devices’ “Location History” feature.
