Royal Mail hit by delivery delays in over 80 postcodes this weekend– is your town listed?

ROYAL MAIL has warned that over 80 postcodes in the UK won’t receive their post on time this weekend. The UK’s primary postal service issued the update via its website warning of delays in areas such as Ashington, Barry and Dudley. Royal Mail is facing delays in up to 90 postcodes across the UK Credit: PA An update said: “We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week. “In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors. Royal Mail has also updated its ‘something for you cards’ when a delivery cannot be made directly to a customer’s door. Now, the cards will include both a QR code and a nine-digit number, which can be used to find out details of your parcel. Most read in Money The delays come as the company faces mounting criticism after just 77% of first-class letters arrived on time last year – well short of its 93% target. Royal Mail updates its list every day – so we’ll let you know as soon as we see the latest postcodes affected. Royal Mail deliveries take place every day of the week other than Sundays.
