After years of work, ReactOS as the "open-source Windows" operating system striving for Windows program and driver compatibility now has an initial USB 3.0 driver stack in place. Following last month's excitement of ReactOS now install-able and used with its NTFS driver, the next major milestone for this open-source project is having a working USB3 stack. This merge landed the initial import of USB3 driver code and already with an eye toward eventually having USB4 in ReactOS: "This has been a very long time coming, the origins of this driver traces back a few years but I've gone through many many iterations. First off, Because we're doing a hackfest! I'm doing this in one giga sized PR. I've been daily driving this USB stack from Windows 11 for awhile and I've given versions of the binaries to a few people! It's quite stable. There's a second PR after this one and DeviceProperty support is merged involving the USB4 Host router and USB4 Device router. Of course they depend on this though.." Awesome job by the ReactOS crew continuing to advance this platform.
