Instead, she's just revealed herself as a major part of the conspiracy Reacher has become caught up in. What Is 'Reacher' Season 4 About? Season 4 begins with Reacher boarding a Philadelphia subway late one night, and it doesn't take him long to notice a frazzled woman crying in one corner of the car. Interpreting her distress as the telltale signs of a potential suicide bomber, Reacher tries to defuse the situation. However, when he tells the woman that he's a cop in an attempt to de-escalate things, she pulls a gun from her bag and shoots herself. As the last person she spoke to, and with only a few witnesses on the train, Reacher is left in a precarious situation, especially when he's accused of pocketing a sensitive flash drive that belonged to the victim. The woman from the train turns out to be Anna Merrick (Karen Kwong-Chip), a human resources worker at the Pentagon. Despite her seemingly ordinary job, Anna had been carrying a flash drive containing highly classified information, and now it's gone missing. Reacher has no idea who took it, but since he feels responsible for her death, he's determined to find out what really happened. He's not the only one looking for the flash drive, either; the CIA, Congressman John Sampson (Marc Blucas), and two mysterious women from Indonesia are all after the same piece of evidence. As Reacher digs deeper, he realizes the flash drive is just the beginning of a much larger political conspiracy. Reacher's Romantic History Has Followed a Predictable Pattern One of Reacher's most predictable and recurring tropes is that each season, the titular character ends up becoming intimately involved with a different love interest. Yet Reacher's no playboy, nor is he much of a romantic. The women who get close to him either share a history with him or are integral to his investigation. Reacher may not be in a place to consider a long-term relationship with them, but there's always an undeniable chemistry that even he can't ignore. Although he isn't much of a ladies' man, his ability to connect with different women shows that he's much more than just brawn. Season 1 introduces police officer Roscoe Conklin (Willa Fitzgerald), who stands by Reacher when the Margrave authorities quickly suspect him of murder. Reacher immediately sympathizes with Lila's tragic backstory, and their attraction leads to the two sleeping together in "One Small Step," but the cracks in Lila's story begin to show only one episode later. After a distinct claw-shaped knife known as a karambit is identified as the unique weapon used in a previous crime, Reacher reveals that Lila and Amisha can wield the blades. This week's episode, "Bridge," finally exposes Lila and Amisha for who they really are: cold-blooded killers who show no remorse. From getting into a shootout and car chase to escaping the cops by plunging into a strong river current, Reacher's latest hour makes it clear they're far from innocent. Just as Reacher thinks he has the upper hand, Lila and Amisha take Anna's brother, Jacob Merrick (Christopher Marquette), hostage, proving they're thinking two steps ahead.
