"We've made the difficult decision to cease development," developer Oh BiBi announced. "The final planned update will be rolling out November 6th, 2026, and the app will be removed from stores on November 21st, 2026. Players who already have the game will be able to continue playing until May 1st, 2027, when the game’s servers will permanently shut down." That means: November 6 — today marks the final update. November 21 — the game will be delisted from storefronts, meaning you have just two weeks to download Ranger Rumble before it disappears. May 1, 2027 — servers will be permanently shut down, and the game will no longer be available. Oh BiBi explained that once the servers have been taken offline, "the game will no longer load" and all player data will be wiped from the servers. In the meantime, in-app purchases have been disabled, and the Super Pass is now free. The First Ratchet & Clank Game In 5 Years: What Is Ranger Rumble? Ranger Rumble is the first new entry in the Ratchet & Clank series since Rift Apart in 2021, set in Captain Qwark's "totally safe simulation." Each match is essentially a training mission, with 12 unique heroes spanning from Zed to Tempest and Lump, with new Lombax characters like Sprocket, Chip, Widget, and Mopz thrown into the mix. Bizarrely, however, Ratchet was an event exclusive character. The game also featured a few different modes to choose from, including a battle royale and Rocket League-esque match up: Bolt Race, a 6-player free-for-all where you had to collect the most bolts to win. Total Rumble, a 6-player deathmatch where the first to reach eight kills wins. Last Stand, a 6-player battle royale mode. Blast Ball, a 3v3 soccer mode where the winning team must score two goals. Zone Control, a 6-player PvP mode where you must capture and hold zones. Mob Rush, a solo PvE mode with 17 different stages. You might be surprised to hear that there was a free-to-play Ratchet & Clank hero shooter on mobile, but it was pretty well-received among those who did play it. The game currently holds a 4.5 star rating on Google Play, but with just 100,00+ downloads, only a fraction of fans ever got around to trying it.
