The result was born from more than “a decade of considered engineering and technological development”, and forms part of a large-scale transformation of JLR’s plant in the West Midlands. Limpert added: “We took our testing and development programmes even further than originally intended to ensure Range Rover Electric is genuinely the most accomplished Range Rover ever.” A waiting list is now available on Range Rover’s site for the opportunity to place a pre-order this year, with sales believed to take place in early 2027. Matt Becker, JLR’s vehicle engineering director, said: “The defining characteristic of Range Rover Electric is its ability to perform across every surface, with effortless comfort and refinement.” Around 9,000 employees in Solihull have been upskilled for electrification and a further 1,500 trained across England’s West Midlands, in light of the company’s drive for more electric models.
