Radisson Adds Older Hotels and Meeting Spaces to Net Zero Program

Radisson Radisson Hotel Group has added four properties to its Verified Net Zero Hotels scheme — including two that were opened in the 1980s. The additions bring the group’s total net zero hotels to nine, inching it close to 10% of its overall 100-hotel goal by 2030. The idea of the scheme is to show that different hotel types, operating in different markets and environments, can reach net zero hotel operations. Energy is one of the biggest hurdles in bringing down operational emissions as the success of electrification is dependent on clean energy. Radisson’s current net zero portfolio is concentrated in the Nordics, where the grid primarily runs on renewable energy. Wednesday’s announcement continues that trend, with three of the new hotels in Stockholm: the Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel, which includes the Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre, Radisson Blu Royal Viking Hotel, and Radisson Blu Arlandia Hotel.
