Quick look: Pixel 11 is here in India, it's familiar and yet different

Google Pixel 11, the latest premium phone from the company, goes on open sale in India tomorrow. While we will have more to say about it in the full Pixel 11 review, for now here is a quick look at the phone.The Google Pixel 11 has launched in India with a starting price of Rs 89,999 Google Pixel 11 is here in India. It is available in open sale from tomorrow, and while the device has been priced at Rs 89,999, there will be bank offers, exchange deals and trade-in programs that will accompany it. So, you may end up getting it for a few thousands rupees less.Will the Pixel 11 be worth its price? Over here at the India Today Tech, we will have more to say about it in the coming days. But for now, as a way of introduction, do meet the Pixel 11. As you scroll through this page, you will see the phone in the Obsidian finish.OneGoogle has launched the Pixel 11 in two variants and four colours. Both variants have 12GB RAM, but storage in one is 256GB while the other one sports 512GB storage. Google says that the 512GB variant uses “zoned storage” that should offer faster read and write speeds. The four colours in which the Pixel 11 is available are: Frost, Hibiscus, Pistachio, and Obsidian.TwoAs it happens nowadays with phones, whether premium or otherwise, the Pixel 11 too doesn’t come with a charger bundled with the box. Although, it will charge with any USB-C charger. Talking of which, Google is promising 30+ hours of battery life with the Pixel 11, which is 6 hours more than what the Pixel 10 promised. The battery size is also marginally bigger and charging speed, whether wired through a 30W charger or wireless with a Qi2.2 charger, is slightly faster. At least that is the Google claim. ThreeOne of the key upgrades in the Pixel 11 is the new Tensor G6 chipset. Google says the new CPU cores deliver up to 20 per cent better power efficiency, 25 per cent faster browsing and 15 per cent faster app loading. But a more significant performance bump is in the TPU part of the chipset, the one that powers the AI features in the Pixel 11. It is up to 50 per cent more powerful. At the same time, the chipset also has a new M3 security chip, which is meant for providing better security on the phone. Google says that M3 uses post-quantum cryptography, something which is going to be particularly relevant in 2 to 3 years from now.FourOne of the key aspects of the Pixel 11 is its suite of AI features. There are several features, new and old, which are powered by Google Gemini AI. In our review we will be exploring these features in detail. But a couple have already caught our attention. One, for example, is the new voice-to-text engine, which is now smart enough to filter out filler sounds like umm and hmmm to create clean text during dictation. Another is an upgrade to Circle To Search, which now directly works within the camera app even if you do not click a photo. Basically, you can use the camera app to look at something and then on the screen “circle” something to search for it.FiveGoogle keeps the camera system in the Pixel 11 quite similar to that of the Pixel 10. At least in terms of hardware, as we can see in the specs sheet, the two camera systems are quite similar. This means you get three rear cameras: 48-megapixel main camera, 13-megapixel wide-angle camera, and 11-megapixel telephoto camera with 5X optical zoom. On the front there is a 10.5-megapixel selfie camera. One change, compared to its predecessor, is that the Pixel 11 now supports up to 30X optical zoom quality, thanks to its new Tensor G6 chip.SixThe Pixel 11 is a handsome phone, although it is also similar in looks and design to the Pixel 10. That’s not a bad thing, though. It is a design that works well, with clean lines and minimalistic approach. The now signature horizontal camera island is still there in the same dimensions, and the same effect. The screen on the front measures 6.3-inches. It is also fairly bright, as you can see in this photo.For now, this was a brief and quick look at the Pixel 11.
