Premium Bonds winners August 2026: NS&I winning numbers this month and how to check if you won a prize

TWO savers have become overnight millionaires after NS&I announced the winners of August’s Premium Bonds jackpots. The results landed a little later than usual because August 1 fell on a Saturday, meaning the big reveal moved to Monday, August 3. Premium Bonds prizes range from £25 to £1 million, with just two people banking the seven-figure sum every month. They hold £21,000 in Premium Bonds, well short of the £50,000 limit. The second £1 million winner is from Hampshire and the Isle of Wight – their winning bond, 491KF169443, was purchased in March 2022. read more on premium bonds They have £49,850 invested, just £150 shy of the maximum total. Other massive prizes this month include 83 savers who won £100,000, and one of them was a Tyne and Wear holder with just £650 in bonds. Better still was another winner from Kent who landed £50,000 off a total holding of £20, and the bond was bought for £10 in July 1981. An Inner London saver also landed £50,000 off a total holding of £30. The winning bond was bought for £10 in December 1979. The odds of each £1 bond winning a prize remain 22,000-to-1, with the variable annual prize fund rate remaining at 3.8%, following July’s increase from 3.3%. That was the first rise in almost three years, after a run of cuts stretching back to September 2023. How to check your numbers this month The £1 million winners are always told in person by Agent Million, but everyone else has to wait a little longer. NS&I updates its prize checker on the day after the first working day of each month, which means smaller prize winners can check their results from Tuesday, August 4. If you win a prize, NS&I will email or text you, so it is worth making sure your details are up to date.
