Now Mancini is in charge of their national team while Ancelotti is Brazil boss. Sign up for the Football newsletter Thank you! And ahead of the upcoming international break, they both headed to North London to catch Saturday night’s Premier League clash. Spurs are, of course, now managed by their compatriot Roberto De Zerbi. But they were no doubt there to watch some of their international stars on display. Tottenham’s squad has three Brazilians – Richarlison, Souza and new man Savio – plus Sandro Tonali and Destiny Udogie of Italy. As for Newcastle, following Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes’ exits, the only player of interest was Joelinton. Joelinton missed the game through injury – as did Savio, despite scoring on his Tottenham debut against Charlton on Wednesday following his £85million transfer from Manchester City. And Richarlison was also not involved amid transfer speculation linking him with a move away from North London. He spent Friday night in France watching his son Davide manage Lille against PSG. But despite leading 2-0 going into injury time, Lille threw it away as Vitinha pulled one back in the 91st minute and Marquinhos equalised in the 95th, compouding a miserable 24 hours for Ancelotti Sr. Instead, it would have been Graham Potter smiling from afar as Sweden international Anthony Elango broke the deadlock on the hour mark. Yoane Wissa’s instinctive ‘overhead flick’ from close range made it 2-0 ten minutes later – as Tottenham’s horror losing start continued. Comment now
