‘Old Trafford waterfall sighting’ – Fans baffled as Man Utd spend £200m in transfers but still haven’t fixed leaky roof

FANS have been left baffled after realising Manchester United are yet to fix the leaky roof at Old Trafford. The heavens opened during the Red Devils’ 5-2 hammering of Ipswich Town in the Premier League. Despite the expenditure on flashy new players, it appears that there has not been much spent on fixing the 116-year-old stadium’s roof. This was evidenced after a waterfall formed from the roof of the Stretford End during the win over the Tractor Boys. The water could be seen flowing out of the roof and onto the ground below. Other videos on social media also showed other leaks around the ground with water dropping onto seated areas. Fans were left stunned by the roof still causing problems despite the club having the opportunity to fix it over the summer. One posted: “Old Trafford’s roof is still leaking in 2026. New managers. New signings. This includes extending the hospitality area and replacing the turf for the first time in 14 YEARS. United could break the £200m mark this summer should they add another player before the transfer deadline on Tuesday. The club has been chasing a left-back to challenge Luke Shaw but have been rebuffed in attempts to sign Lewis Hall from Newcastle. Comment now
