Photography captures social change vividly, says Media Academy chairman

Raghavachari Media Academy, Andhra Pradesh, chairman Alapati Suresh Kumar.Speaking as the chief guest at the awards ceremony of a photography contest organised by the Andhra Pradesh Photo Journalists Association (APPJA) in collaboration with the C. Raghavachari Media Academy and the A.P. State Creativity and Culture Commission at the Press Club here on Tuesday, Mr. Suresh Kumar stressed the need for photojournalists to continuously acquire and adapt to new technologies.Indian Journalists Union general secretary Soma Sundar said a single photograph could speak a thousand words and that photographers effectively portrayed public issues and social changes. He urged photojournalists to work with professional commitment and continue serving society.APPJA president C.H.V.S. Vijaya Bhaskara Rao said 110 participants from 15 States took part in the National Photo Contest-2026, submitting 440 photographs. Entries were received from photojournalists working with national English newspapers, national and regional newspapers, and news agencies.Awards were later presented to the winning photojournalists.A.P.
