Although Kingdom Hearts 4 was sadly a no-show at last night’s Opening Night Live showcase, that hasn’t stopped the last few weeks from being absolutely massive for the series. Not only did we get our first Disney world reveal in the form of Coco, but we also had our longest trailer yet and tons of behind-the-scenes details from D23’s Deep Dive panel. For me, though, perhaps the biggest bit of news is that Kingdom Hearts 4 is “100 percent” locked in for its late 2027 release date, which means it’ll just about be part of the franchise’s 25th anniversary celebrations. As it turns out, the launch of Kingdom Hearts 4 is just an admittedly big slice of what Square has planned. Kingdom Hearts 25th Anniversary Exhibition Confirmed, And There’s Even Some Merch Looks Like I’m Heading To Tokyo Earlier today, the official Japanese Kingdom Hearts Twitter account announced that the series is getting a special exhibition for its 25th anniversary. The event will be live from February 5 to April 4 in 2027, just in time for the series’ big milestone in March, and an official website and dedicated Twitter account have already been set up. The bad news for a lot of Kingdom Hearts fans is that the event is taking place at the Mori Arts Center Gallery in Tokyo, which means that it’s going to be an expensive trip. There’s a chance that Square Enix holds more anniversary events in other locations considering the worldwide popularity of the series, but don’t hold your breath on that. It might be worth splurging on the exhibition, though, as the website confirms that it will feature exclusive merchandise (which will no doubt get quickly scalped), a replica of the Keyblade, photo spots featuring “famous scenes”, documentary exhibits, and even an “immersive theatre”. It sounds like it’s going to be quite the event, so I guess I'd better start saving to see it for myself.
