Yesterday, an absolute bombshell was dropped on Persona fans when a gameplay trailer for an unannounced remake of the first game in the series, apparently subtitled Be Your True Mind, was leaked online. The footage confirmed it’s another Persona 5-style remake like P3 and P4 have got, but with a unique street art style to it and a darker atmosphere. While it was already incredibly easy to believe the remake was real based on how much work it’d take to make such a detailed fake, and since Persona 3 Reload leaked in a similar way, a new piece of official collaborative art has added even more fuel to the fire. I can’t imagine it would even try, but Atlus will have a really hard time denying the remake is in the works. Official Persona 30th Anniversary Collab Uses The Leaked Remake Design Yep, We’re Getting A Persona 1 Remake Earlier today, the official Twitter page for Algernon Product, a Japanese manufacturer and distributor, shared a collaboration announcement for Persona’s 30th anniversary. The collab features art of the original Persona protagonist by Mochizuki Kei, which is briefly shown off in a short trailer. So far, so normal, since Persona’s 30th anniversary has mostly felt like collaborations and merchandise. What makes it interesting, however, is that the design featured in the short trailer is incredibly reminiscent of the updated look that the protagonist has in the remake, as you can see in this tweet from Bleach20211. Even though it seems like most Persona fans were already true believers that the remake was real, especially with series producer Kazuhisa Wada previously saying Atlus had to remake the first two games, the collab art has really sealed the deal. Now we just have to wait for an official announcement, or at least for more leaks.
