‘Outer Banks’ Returns To Netflix With Middling Viewership For Final Season; ‘Tires’ Hits Series-High Ranking

Outer Banks made somewhat of a slow return to Netflix for its fifth and final season. The concluding episodes of the series debuted to 9.4 million views. That is down quite handily from the 15.5 million views that Season 4A attracted in the same timeframe, but still slightly up from the 8.6 million that met the second half of the fourth season upon its premiere. Netflix didn’t split the season this time around. The decline here is not exactly shocking since Netflix has been experiencing audience retention issues with most series, even some of its most popular. And, it was still a good enough send off to put Season 5 atop the English TV rankings from August 17 to 23. This is the franchise’s fourth consecutive No. 1 series debut. Watch on Deadline It was a low-streaming week for English-language title across the board on Netflix, where YA also claimed the top spot on the English film list. Sunny Sandler’s Don’t Say Good Luck tallied 12.8 million views to take No. 1. The Last House was a close second with 12 million views. The top title of the week went to Facing El Chapo, which premiered at the top of the non-English film list with 18 million views. Elsewhere in TV, Tires season 3 hit an all-time series high at No. 5 on the English TV list globally. That’s the best it has ever done, putting up 2.8 million views to secure the spot. Also, Harlan Coben’s I Will Find You jumped up to No. 7 on Netflix’s all-time most popular list thanks to another 2.5 million views. My Brilliant Career traversed the Australian bush to land at No. 2 on the English TV list with 4.7 million views. Based on Miles Franklin’s book, the period drama follows headstrong aspiring writer Sybylla Melvyn (Philippa Northeast), who is sent to live with her wealthy grandmother and suddenly finds herself pulled between ambition and love Speaking of romance, My Life with the Walter Boys Season 3 wrangled the No. 3 spot for its third week on the list, earning 4.3 million views. It sees lovestruck teen Jackie (Nikki Rodriguez) make a big decision between polar-opposite brothers Cole (Noah LaLonde) and Alex (Ashby Gentry). Season 4 is currently in production.
