He’s interviewed the biggest game directors, some of the industry’s top talents, told the stories of how indie games came to be, and spoken to players about what really makes them tick. He’s also interviewed some of the world’s biggest musical artists to find out how the medium has inspired their work, and TV and Film actors about their roles in video game adaptations. He even hosted a PAX panel in 2021 and made a documentary in 2024 surrounding the creation of a Disney game. Alongside this, Sam focuses on breaking news. Sign in to your TheGamer account In 1998, changing a game after release was nearly impossible. New versions of the cartridge or disc would have had to be printed and distributed, and that's a lot of additional effort for the developer and publisher. That didn't stop Nintendo, though, as they made a 1.2 version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, with two tweaks to meet its ESRB rating. Those changes carried over to Ocarina of Time 3D on the Nintendo 3DS, and it was expected that Nintendo would do the same for the remake on the Nintendo Switch 2. That isn't the case, however, and the infamous scene featuring Ganondorf has been censored again, completely changing its structure. Scene Featuring Ganondorf Censored For The Second Time In Ocarina Of Time Remake Spoilers for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time ahead. In the original version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, upon his defeat, Ganondorf spewed red blood. That red blood was deemed too adult, so in the 1.2 version and consequently the Nintendo 3DS version, it was changed from red to green. The Switch 2 remake has now replaced that scene entirely. The 1.2 version of Ocarina of Time also removed chanting sounds from one of the game's dungeons to make it less spooky. First shared by Marie Rose Phantom on Twitter, that scene has been replaced with Ganondorf on his knees, monologuing to Link about how he lost to "some pathetic child". It's a small change, but one that avid Ocarina of Time fans (of which there are many) will quickly notice. It's not the first time in recent memory that a game has been censored for the Nintendo Switch 2. Earlier this year, the Nintendo Switch port of the Telltale-esque Dispatch faced major censorship and backlash on Nintendo's platforms. Although AdHoc Studio kept the gameplay and narrative largely the same, they completely edited any scenes featuring full-frontal nudity, of which there were a few.
