The stock then gained further ground, rising as much as 5.2% from its issue price to hit a day's high of Rs 1,878.At the latest update, NSE shares were trading at Rs 1,861.50, up Rs 61.50, or 3.42%, from the listing price of Rs 1,800. The stock was up Rs 76.50, or 4.29%, compared with its IPO issue price of Rs 1,785.The stock opened at Rs 1,800 and has so far traded between Rs 1,800 and Rs 1,878. Its volume stood at 343.80 lakh shares, while turnover was Rs 6,327.48 crore. The stock's VWAP, or volume-weighted average price, stood at Rs 1,840.46.The NSE IPO was a Rs 22,561.57 crore offer for sale of 12.64 crore shares. The issue opened for subscription on September 17 and closed on September 21. The IPO was priced in the range of Rs 1,700 to Rs 1,785 per share, with a lot size of eight shares. The minimum investment for a retail investor at the upper end of the price band was Rs 14,280.The issue was subscribed 5.71 times overall, with the retail portion subscribed 1.39 times, the QIB (Ex Anchor) category 12.68 times and the NII category 6.55 times.NSE MARKET CAPITALISATION At the current share price of Rs 1,861.50, NSE's market capitalisation stood at around Rs 4,60,535.63 crore, according to the market data.The stock has a 52-week high of Rs 1,878, which is also its current day's high, while its 52-week low is Rs 1,800.The stock's upper price band is Rs 2,160 and lower price band is Rs 1,440, with a 20% price band.Shivani Nyati, Head of Wealth at Swastika Investmart Ltd, said the NSE's debut at Rs 1,800 represented a modest premium over the issue price and reflected realistic market expectations rather than an aggressive listing-day spike.She said NSE's position in India's capital markets, along with its strong presence in the cash and equity futures segments, gives it a significant competitive position.However, Nyati also pointed to the company's dependence on market trading activity, with nearly 79% of its revenue tied to trading volumes. She said this makes near-term earnings sensitive to market activity cycles and regulatory changes."The stock trades at a notable discount to its primary listed peer, BSE, leaving strategic head-room for long-term re-rating as India's financialisation deepens," Nyati said.She added that short-term and listing-gain investors could use a stop-loss at Rs 1,740, while long-term investors could hold through volume-driven volatility.The NSE share price has moved above its issue price after a modest debut, with the stock touching Rs 1,878 during the session. At the current price of Rs 1,861.50, it is 4.29% above the IPO price of Rs 1,785.The listing comes after strong demand for the IPO, which attracted more than five times the shares on offer during the subscription period.
