The fish and chips is available on the Saturday or Sunday lunch menus which cost £95 for two courses.So based on the main being double the cost of a starter, the new The Hand and Flowers fish & chips works out at about £60.It is almost six times the average cost of it from a chippy in the UK - which is currently priced at £10.29.Other dishes on the Sunday Lunch set menu include crispy pig's head, salmon parfait and treacle cured chateaubriand of beef.Mr Kerridge - who has appeared on TV shows like MasterChef and Saturday Kitchen - described the fish and chips as a 'pub classic, but elevated'. Addressing the price in January last year, the defiant Michelin-starred chef insisted if diners are looking for 'cheap and cheerful' they should look elsewhere. 'Do the people who shout about the price of my fish and chips [£37] also shout at Ferrari when it launches a new car?' he told The Times.‘If you're getting the best you can get, that's how much it is.‘It’s very different from a fish and chip shop like where I grew up. Frozen blocks of fish, which are sometimes shipped to China to be processed, are different from fish caught by a guy who has been on a boat throughout the night.’In June, Mr Kerridge was slammed for charging £27.50 for a burger that customers have to eat with a knife and fork at The Coach, also in Marlow.The chef owns six pubs and restaurants across the South East and in London and has three Michelin stars.
