The Amex Offers program often has promotions that can save you money or earn you bonus points for purchases with all kinds of retailers. Typically I only cover the deals for travel brands, since that’s the main focus of this blog. However, I figure that for many people, a discount with Amazon is basically good as cash, so I think this is worth covering as well, since it’s potentially a valuable perk of having a credit card. Earn Amex bonus points for spending with AmazonThis Amazon promotion is worth taking advantage ofBottom line Earn Amex bonus points for spending with Amazon With a new targeted Amex Offers deal, you can earn some number of Amex Membership Rewards bonus points for spending a certain amount with Amazon. There seem to be two primary versions of this offer, both valid for purchases through December 5, 2026: Spend $50, earn 500 Amex bonus points, up to three times (so 1,500 bonus points after spending $150) Spend $150, earn 1,200 Amex bonus points, up to three times (so 3,600 bonus points after spending $450) It’s possible there’s also a version offering a statement credit rather than bonus points, though I usually consider the points versions of Amex Offers deals to represent the best deal. Earn bonus Amex points for spending with Amazon The promotion is only valid for purchases made through Amazon’s US website or mobile app, using the enrolled card. The offer excludes corporate gift cards and custom designed gift card purchases. It also excludes Prime memberships and auto-renew subscription services. However, just reloading your Amazon balance should qualify (or at least has qualified for me in the past). Based on my latest miles & points valuations, I consider Amex Membership Rewards points to be worth 1.7 cents each, meaning: With the offer for 500 bonus points for $50 in spending, you’re earning an incremental $8.50 return, or 17% With the offer for 1,200 bonus point for $150 in spending, you’re earning an incremental $20.40 return, or 13.6% That’s excellent, especially when you consider that this is before factoring in any credit card rewards you’d ordinarily earn. Given that many of us do quite a bit of shopping through Amazon, I’d consider this level of a return on spending to be pretty noteworthy. Also keep in mind that it’s often possible to save on Amazon purchases by redeeming just a single Amex point, so check to see if you’re eligible for that. Bottom line The Amex Offers program has a targeted promotion, offering bonus points for spending with Amazon. One version of the offer is for 500 bonus points for spending $50, while another version of the offer is for 1,200 bonus points for spending $150. Given that Amazon is one of the largest retailers in the world, I know many will probably want to take advantage of this… I know I will. Were you targeted for this Amex Offers deal, and if so, do you plan on taking advantage of it?
