Next-gen Hyundai Creta and i10 to launch in India by 2027

The company confirmed plans for the two new-generation models at its 2026 CEO Investor Day.While the next-gen Creta has already been spotted testing, Hyundai's will also update. The Creta is expected to arrive first, with the next-generation i10 likely to follow by late 2027.2027 Hyundai CretaThe third-generation Hyundai Creta, internally codenamed SX3, is expected to receive a comprehensive redesign and could move to Hyundai-Kia's newer K3 platform. The architecture already underpins the latest-generation Kia Seltos and could bring improvements in structural rigidity, safety and interior packaging.Test mules spotted in India suggest a significant departure from the current Creta's styling. The upcoming SUV appears to have a more upright and boxy silhouette, with a wider stance and squarer glasshouse. The overall proportions also indicate that Hyundai could increase the Creta's dimensions, including its length and wheelbase. At the front, the SUV is expected to feature a more upright nose, while the steeply raked windscreen and short overhangs could help maximise cabin space. Large alloy wheels, expected to measure around 18 inches, and a more prominent roof spoiler are also visible on the test vehicle.The new Creta is expected to retain Hyundai's existing 1.5-litre engine family for India. This could include naturally aspirated petrol, turbo-petrol and diesel powertrains, paired with manual and automatic transmission options. However, the biggest addition could be a strong-hybrid powertrain. Hyundai is stepping up its hybrid strategy for India, and the next-generation Creta could use a hybrid system similar to the one expected on the upcoming Seltos. Kia has already confirmed that the hybrid Seltos will arrive in India by 2027.The cabin is also expected to get a major overhaul, with a more modern dashboard, larger digital displays, upgraded connected-car technology and enhanced driver-assistance features. Hyundai could also expand ADAS availability and offer more safety features as standard across the range.Next-gen Hyundai i10The hatchback is expected to receive a comprehensive redesign inside and out. It could also move to a newer platform, while gaining additional features and technology.The powertrain is likely to remain familiar. The new i10 is expected to retain the current model's 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which produces 83bhp, along with the CNG version developing 69bhp. Manual and AMT gearbox options are also likely to continue.The next-generation i10 is expected to launch in India by late 2027.
