The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones Facsimile Edition Recreates Indie's First Marvel Appearance Marvel recently announced a new facsimile edition of The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones #1. First published in 1982, the comic series continued Indie's adventures for the first time since Raiders of the Lost Ark, with original adventures penned by comics legend John Byrne. The new edition will recreate the groundbreaking first issue as fans first experienced it in the '80s, including the original advertisements. The story follows as Indiana pursues golden artifacts known as the Ikons of Ikammanen, introducing new characters including the heroic Edith Dunne and gangster Solomon Black. The comic's summary reads: The landmark first original Indiana Jones story ever published by Marvel Comics - written and laid out by industry legend John Byrne, with finished artwork by his X-MEN artistic collaborator Terry Austin! Indiana Jones' Marvel Era Is Getting a Massive Deluxe Edition Marvel Comics While the new facsimile edition of The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones #1 was recently announced, the single issue will be preceded by a luxurious collection of the entire series. Coming September 2026, this deluxe edition will collect the entire Further Adventures comic series into two volumes, as well as comic adaptations of Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. These comics have been difficult for fans to get their hands on for years, and the inclusion of leatherette binding, embossed cover details, and ribbon bookmarks make for impressive artifacts in their own right. Fans may be asking why Marvel is choosing now to revisit Indiana Jones' classic comic adventures, and the answer is that Marvel is revisiting past glories to prepare fans for what comes next... New Indiana Jones Comics Are Coming Soon As recently announced at San Diego Comic-Con, December will see Marvel begin publication of Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium, with Jason Aaron and Aaron Kuder pitting Indie against his 'most notorious villains' and orchestrating a reunion with Marion Ravenwood.
