National Cinema Weekend: Where you can get £4 film tickets in London

National Cinema Weekend is almost upon us and to celebrate, cinemas across the capital and the UK are selling tickets to some of the biggest films for just £4.As the summer finally comes to a close, what better way to enjoy cooling temperatures than sitting back and watching a great film on a big screen?The event, which first began in 2022 as a one-day affair, has now been stretched to two days, giving even more movie lovers a chance to head to the cinema for a fraction of the price.Over 530 cinemas in the UK are taking part in the scheme, run by Cinema First, meaning there should be plenty of opportunities to get yourself a discounted ticket.In London, 49 cinemas are taking part, ranging from chains such as Cineworld and Odeon, to independent cinemas, such as Phoenix in Finchley to The Castle Cinema in Hackney.Cinema-goers can watch the features on a variety of screen formats, including 4DX, ScreenX and Superscreen, as well as IMAX, which costs £6.Vue is one of the cinema chains taking partPA ArchiveCustomers should book directly via the website, where a discount will be applied at checkout stage. You can also book in person at the cinema, though booking online guarantees entry if the theatre is full.The £4 tickets are available for all films, all screens and all seating types, with IMAX costing an additional £2.Current showings include huge hits like Spider-Man: Brand New Day and The Odyssey, whilst new films such as Insidious: Out of the Further, The Dog Stars, Rise of the Footsoldier: Retribution and The Death of Robin Hood are also available.Filmgoers can go see huge hits like The Odyssey PATo make it a family affair, catch a showing of Toy Story 5 or Minions & Monsters.
