When MySweetSmile started popping up everywhere with their dentist-approved, sensitivity-free promise and thousands of five-star reviews, we figured it was time to see what the fuss was about and to see if they actually lived up to their promise. We put three hero products to the test: the Whitening Powder, the Whitening Strips and Enamel Care Serum, to find out which ones deserve your hard-earned cash. And honestly? The results (in such a short time) surprised us. We all have days when we could really do with a brighter smile (I know I do), but if you’re looking for whiter teeth for a particular occasion, it’s worth putting in the legwork a couple of weeks before the big day. The whitening powder is designed to work alongside your typical toothpaste, so I first brushed my teeth with trusty AquaFresh, then followed up with MySweetSmile twice a week, as advised. After the first use, my teeth felt possibly the cleanest they’ve ever been and looked slightly brighter. MySweetSmile’s formula incorporates three key, enamel-safe ingredients that are clinically proven to protect enamel, fade stains, and remove plaque. What I really loved about this product is how little you need to use it. Despite working in beauty, I’m actually very low maintenance (AKA lazy) and find sticking to lengthy routines rather tricky. However, I stuck to my MySweetSmile routine and was even able to take the handy jar away on holiday with me, as you can pop it into hand luggage. I used the powder twice a week for two weeks before I started noticing results. Although my teeth weren’t white enough for the world to notice, I definitely saw an improvement in yellow stains and overall radiance. However, after consistently using these strips for two weeks, I was thoroughly impressed. Every morning I applied the top strip to my upper teeth and the bottom strip to my lower teeth; each one covered roughly eight teeth (those visible when smiling). After just two weeks, I was getting compliments on my teeth, with people saying how clear and bright they looked. I especially noticed the strips had removed slight discolouration between the wonky teeth on my lower set, where I always struggle to properly get clean. I would thoroughly recommend the strips as an easy, fuss‑free way to brighten your teeth quickly and affordably. Tooth decay, chipping and excessive brushing are all common culprits, and I’m definitely guilty of the latter. So, I’m always looking for ways to strengthen and promote the health of my teeth. I was intrigued to try this dentist-approved serum, thanks to its impressive ingredient list. Whilst you can’t build new enamel, this serum uses nano-hydroxyapatite (nHA) to help remineralise it (a process of reintroducing necessary minerals to your teeth), which helps strengthen enamel and reduce sensitivity. The formula also features theobromine, a natural alternative to fluoride, to promote tooth health and reduce decay. That said, the teeth whitening serum still needs to be used alongside your typical toothpaste and can be used daily after brushing. To use it, apply a couple of pumps to your toothbrush and brush for two minutes. Sadly, this adds to your daily brushing time, which I think is counterintuitive because overbrushing is a common cause of sensitivity. At first, this really put me off, as I always try to be careful with my gums by not overbrushing my teeth. And that aside, adding extra time to your toothbrushing routine isn’t ideal if you’re in a hurry. However, I found this serum very easy and gentle to use. Put off by scary-sounding nano-hydroxyapatite, I initially assumed that this formula would be heavy and harsh. But this wasn’t true in my experience. Instead, the serum lathers into a soft, fine foam and has a pleasant, subtle taste. According to MySweetSmile, the serum can provide instant results alongside varying results with continued use. I didn’t see immediate results, but I haven’t complained about my teeth since I started using it two weeks ago. While I still can’t bite down on ice cream or slurp a steaming cuppa, with continued use, I have high hopes! Review by Mia Lyndon
