In footage captured by another passenger on the return flight from Larnaca, Cyprus, to Birmingham, three women and a man are seen being ordered off by police. They had repeatedly taken puffs on a vape despite being asked to stop 'numerous times' by cabin crew, while also ignoring the complaints of nearby holidaymakers. 'The police are waiting for them downstairs,' one easyJet staff member is heard saying as the clip begins, before an officer interjects: 'Do you guys want to get off please?' The policeman adds: 'Just go that way. We'll have a chat with you outside.' Eventually, following a brief delay, a grey-haired woman is followed off the flight by three others as dozens of other passengers wait patiently on the runway. Annalise Galstaun, 31, who filmed the footage on her phone, said the plane was held up for more than 20 minutes while staff tried to remove the foursome. She fumed: 'Grown adults who can't wait to smoke their strawberry-flavoured crap. 'Staff had seen them numerous times and I think someone close complained too.' Ms Galstaun also told how a number of passengers had become frustrated by the group's behaviour, with some children even left crying. She added: 'I felt annoyed as we were delayed around 20 to 25 minutes grounded on the floor waiting for them to be escorted. 'There were children onboard crying, it's a long journey.' A spokesperson for easyJet said of the incident on September 16: 'Flight EZY6610 from Larnaca to Birmingham on 16 September was met by police on arrival due to a group of passengers behaving disruptively onboard.'Our cabin crew are trained to assess all situations and to act quickly and appropriately to ensure that the safety of the flight and other customers is not compromised at any time.'We take these incidents seriously and do not tolerate disruptive behaviour onboard.'The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is always easyJet's highest priority.'A spokesperson for West Midlands police said: 'We received a complaint of a disruptive passenger and we supported staff in asking someone to leave the plane.'
