THIS is the chilling moment a burqa-clad woman is allegedly seen buying bomb parts as part of a sick plot to bomb a government building. Items included a “large plastic bin full of nails,” per the complaint with Bowie allegedly inside the Rensselaer store for around 28 minutes. FBI investigators claim the nails would have acted as shrapnel after the initial detonation. The planned date of the alleged attack was unclear, but FBI informants claimed to have met Bowie on Wednesday and gave her an inert explosive device and an inert handgun. They claimed alongside the image, Bowie said she would attack on a “day when we know senators will be meeting,” according to the FBI. One alleged message seen by an informant on July 29 said the plan was to “destroy as much of the building as possible and kill the senators while they are meeting. “I want them to lose a lot of important documents as well. “I don’t want to take this kind of risk and have it kill what, two or three people. What good is that?” In another message, Bowie said she wanted to “target my State Capitol… ideally in a way I could get away with and hop on a plane after,” the complaint added. Bowie would later boast to multiple informants that if she was successful, she would return to plan more attacks on US soil later in the year, according to the complaint. This allegedly included the White House, which would take more time as it is “an even harder job”. Law enforcement had Bowie on their radar for five weeks before her arrest this week. They believe she was “radicalised online,” by ISIS, according to First Assistant US Attorney John A. Sarcone III. Her social media showed several pro-radical Islamist and anti-American posts in the weeks leading up to her planned attack, the complaint detailed. On May 28, an account allegedly linked to Bowie posted: “Praise be to Allah for September 11th.” She also spoke about how “jihad is an obligation,” and recorded herself reciting a pledge of allegiance to ISIS, according to FBI agents. Bowie was arrested Wednesday near a McDonald’s not far from the Capitol building. She offered a partial confession during her interview with FBI agents, according to the complaint. The woman allegedly said: “There’s no helping me, you guys know enough, there’s no helping me, I’m going to prison for the rest of my life. “Material support is up to 20 years in prison, I already Googled it before, I know I’m going to jail.” FBI Special Agent in Charge Albany Field Office Craig L.
