Dubai declares 10 days mourning following death of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid

Dubai(UAE): Dubai has declared a 10-day period of official mourning following the passing of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Chairman of Dubai Police and Public Security, on Monday, September 21, 2026.The Court of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, confirmed that flags will fly at half-mast across the emirate during the mourning period. Sheikh Mohammed paid tribute to his late younger brother in a statement, expressing deep condolences and praying for solace for the royal family and loved ones.
