Created by Terry Matalas, the upcoming Marvel TV show follows Paul Bettany's Vision as he attempts to regain both his memory and his humanity following the ending of WandaVision (2021). The spinoff series is set to feature a handful of both new and returning characters, including the introduction of Ruaridh Mollica as Thomas "Tommy Shepherd, aka Speed. The first trailer for WandaVision has now been released, and some viewers on X have taken issue with one Speed design decision, notably his lack of comic-accurate white hair. Check out select posts below: "HE BETTER HAVE WHITE SILVER HAIR AT THE END OF THE SHOW!" writes @scarletfication. They warn: "DO NAWT PLAY MARVEL." @daizzydrawz shares a gif of an angry teenager smashing his phone and breaking his skateboard, writing: "so no white hair?" "[W]as it really that hard to give him white hair???" asks @kill4joy. Originally posted in Spanish and translated using X's translation feature, @leclrcgraysn shares an image of Mollica sporting white hair in his personal life before angrily taking aim at Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, writing: "with how good that white hair looks on him, YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING RIGHT, [FEIGE]." "Boy if you don't dye that hair white, don't piss me off," writes @DukeOfGotham. Though @flameonf4 admits that the trailer itself "looks pretty good," they also take issue with Tommy's lack of white hair. They write: "WHY DOES TOMMY HAVE BROWN HAIR??? WHERE IS HIS WHITE HAIR???" Tommy is seemingly set to play a fairly major role in VisionQuest, but the trailer doesn't make clear just how much his superhero alter ego will be present. In Marvel Comics, Tommy is the reincarnated twin son of the Scarlet Witch, and he eventually becomes a member of the Young Avengers. It's possible the show will be setting up a more major role arc for Tommy moving forward. In terms of powers, Speed, as his name suggests, has super speed and incredibly fast reflexes. One unique ability is that he can also accelerate molecular matter to cause explosions. None of these powers, however, are substantially shown off in the trailer, suggesting the show could serve as something of an origin story for the character, building up to his taking of the Speed mantle. If this is the case, it's entirely possible that Tommy's hair will become white before the show wraps up. This, however, would be a deviation from the comics, as the character's hair is said to be naturally white. More to come...
