A few days later, there are enough reviews out there to gauge where Marvel Tokon might fall in the 2026 pecking order, and all signs point to it being among the highest-rated games of the year. Marvel Tokon Is Getting Strong Review Scores That’s because, right now on OpenCritic, the new Marvel fighter has a score of 89. There are only four games released this year to have scored higher than that, and an 89 puts Marvel Tokon firmly among some of the most popular games of the year. Pokemon Pokopia, Resident Evil Requiem, and Big Walk all currently have the same score. There is every chance Marvel Tokon’s score fluctuates over the coming days. In fact, that’s almost a certainty. Again, due to the nature of how this game is being reviewed - post-launch with reviews being published as and when they’re ready - its score is currently based on just eight reviews. For comparisons, Requiem achieved an average score of 89 across 230 published reviews. There are so few reviews for Marvel Tokon that it doesn’t even have a score on Metacritic yet. Ongoing PC Problems Might Mean Marvel Tokon's Review Scores Drop Arc System Works That could mean Marvel Tokon’s score goes up as more reviews roll in. However, it seems more like that score will drop. Although some have been enjoying their time with Arc System Works’ new title during its first few days, a lot of those playing on PC have been left thoroughly unimpressed. Marvel Tokon currently has Mixed reviews on Steam, and it is hanging onto that unwanted badge by a thread at this moment in time, with only a little more than a single percentage point between it and Negative. The reasons behind these poor reviews include the game’s anti-cheat making it unplayable for those using Linux, and the need to sign in to a PSN account even though you’re not playing the game on PS5. If the game itself is good, and it sounds like it is, it makes sense that it's reviewing far better critically than it is with those playing on Steam. Critics won’t have been affected by those problems, so unless they don’t like the game or have been faced with bugs and technical issues, Marvel Tokon is going to review favorably. It’s a shame those PC problems are holding it back, as based on these early scores, it might be one of the best fighting games released in years.
