While the MCU has given us some truly memorable antagonists, no one really comes close to Thanos. He was, after all, the big bad guy that was teased for a decade before the conclusion of Avengers: Endgame. As Marvel fans look ahead to the release of Avengers: Doomsday this December, it's clear that Marvel isn't quite done with Thanos yet. In the comics, villains rarely stay dead for very long. Even heroes who get killed off eventually return, no matter how often writers claim they're dead for real (cough, Jean Grey, cough). So, it's not necessarily surprising that Thanos is making a comeback in the Path to Doomsday. What is surprising, however, is HOW Thanos is coming back to fight some of the most iconic heroes from the Marvel universe. In the latest Dev Vision on YouTube, it was revealed that the Path to Doomsday will continue by adding Thanos into Marvel Rivals. Aiming to recreate the awesomeness of Endgame and Infinity War in the MCU, Marvel Rivals isn't just tossing Thanos at players in typical fashion. This time around, there will be an epic 50-player fight against Thanos and his minions when Season 10.5 kicks off. The PvE experience will begin on October 22, 2026, thanks to Path to Doomsday – Avengers: Endgame. The new mode will take place inside the ruins of the Avengers compound. To prepare for the Thanos fight, players will likely want to participate in the other new mode arriving in Marvel Rivals Season 10.5: Avengers: Infinity War mode. This will be a 2v2 event that involves trying to snatch opposing teams' Infinity Stones, which will offer powerful new abilities. This mode begins on October 9, 2026. That's not all Season 10.5 will bring in Marvel Rivals. As we enter the spooky season, the game is adding Halloween-themed skins and events, most of which will be available in between the two new Avengers modes. For example, Blade, Deadpool, and more heroes will get new skins as part of the All Hallows Glow event, which starts on October 15, 2026. As the entirety of Marvel seemingly prepares for the new movie in December, you can also catch Avengers: Endgame Encore in theaters. And if this round of Marvel Rivals content isn't for you, then expect to see more in the Path to Doomsday in the upcoming weeks and months.
