Married a month ago, man finds wife with lover, claims she gave him sleeping pills

A man in Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi caught his wife and her lover in an objectionable position at their house, and was subsequently thrashed. In his complaint with the police, the man claimed that after his wife, whom he married only one-and-a-half months ago, held his hands as her lover attempted to strangle him.The incident happened in Chirgaon village. The man said in his complaint that he married the woman, a resident of Bhander in Madhya Pradesh, on June 24 in accordance with Hindu rituals.According to him, his wife allegedly began giving him sleeping medication mixed with tea, milk or food around two to three weeks after their wedding. He claimed that he began repeatedly falling sick, and as a result, became suspicious.He further alleged that a young man visited their house on two occasions while his wife was alone. On August 19, neighbours allegedly informed him that a man had visited his house. When he questioned his wife, she denied it. The husband claimed that the same man returned on August 23. After receiving information about his presence, he reached home and opened the door, where he found his wife and the man in an objectionable condition.After that, when his wife and her lover started allegedly assaulting him, the man screamed. Hearing the commotion, neighbours arrived at the scene and intervened. Police were subsequently called to the scene to bring the situation under control. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, showing a room full of people with a man and a woman sitting on the bed, supposedly the wife and her lover.Now, expressing concern for his and his family's safety, the husband has sought police action. He went to the police station with his parents to file the complaint.Speaking about the case, a senior police officer said that they had reached the spot after receiving information about the matter and had received a written complaint.
