Police and the State Disaster Emergency Response Force (SDERF) launched an overnight search operation after receiving information from the child. The bodies of the woman and her daughter were recovered from Hingonia pond.According to police, the eight-year-old boy stopped a patrolling team and told them that his father had assaulted his mother and sister before throwing them into the pond. He later managed to reach the village and informed residents about the incident.Police teams rushed to the area following the child's account. Due to darkness and poor visibility, the search initially proved difficult. The SDERF team was called in and conducted an overnight operation, recovering two bodies from the pond. The victims were identified as 32-year-old Anita and her daughter Mahi, who was around 11 years old. Police said the couple had been involved in frequent disputes for some time.Preliminary investigation suggests that Chauhan allegedly suspected his wife of having inappropriate conversations with other people after finding several contacts on her mobile phone. The couple reportedly had another argument on Monday evening. Police suspect Chauhan took his wife and children to the pond during the dispute. He allegedly strangled Anita with the end of her sari and stabbed her with a knife. He then allegedly pushed Mahi into deep water and threw his son into the pond.ACCUSED IN CUSTODY, PROBE UNDERWAYPolice said Chauhan allegedly attempted suicide after the incident but was taken into custody before he could do so.A case has been registered in connection with the murders and the alleged attempt to drown the children.
