A MAN has been arrested after horrified passengers allegedly caught him creating child pornography using AI on a train. Passengers were stunned by what they saw and confronted the man, but he allegedly appeared completely unfazed. A police source told the newspaper: “People were stunned, but he seemed not to see what the problem was.” Alarmed travellers then raised the horrific discovery with train conductors, who immediately alerted police. When the train pulled into Saint-Pierre-des-Corps station in Indre-et-Loire, officers from the brigade for the suppression of crimes against persons swooped in and arrested the man. The suspect, who is reportedly in his seventies, was taken into custody at the central police station in Tours. He allegedly told officers he had been travelling to a meditation centre in the Loir-et-Cher region. He was released on Monday and returned to Alsace, his home region, while the investigation continues. The Tours public prosecutor’s office opened an investigation before relinquishing jurisdiction to the Saverne public prosecutor’s office in Bas-Rhin, due to the suspect’s place of residence. Sarah El Hairy, the High Commissioner for Children, confirmed the investigation in a statement on Saturday and praised the passengers who raised the alarm. “Thank you to the travelers for reporting these horrors and to the ticket inspectors for acting quickly. Every report counts: an investigation is underway,” she said. “Predators are not just hiding in the corners of the internet: they are everywhere. Silence protects the abusers, never the children,” added the High Commissioner for Children.
