Man, 33, found dead in Spanish holiday resort after being shot in stomach ‘during hit-and-run’

A MAN has been found dead in a Brit holiday hotspot after being shot in the stomach in an alleged hit-and-run attack. The 33-year-old was discovered in a luxury Costa de Sol resort in Marbella at 2.15am. Although police have not confirmed the spot where the man was found dead, he is understood to have been killed in a street called Calle Pintor Pacheco. Sign up for The Sun newsletter Thank you! The street, a short walk from Marbella’s seafront promenade, is near to a large private hospital and the town’s fishing port. Emergency services raced to the scene but were unable to save the man. A hit-and-run car crash was initially suspected but paramedics later confirmed that the victim had died of bullet wounds. Police said today he had two gunshots wounds to his “abdominal area.” They added: “The National Police have opened an investigation to clarify the homicide in Marbella of a 33-year-old man, found early this morning with two gunshot wounds.” Shortly before the alert about the shooting, police are understood to have been called about a fight in the same area during which several shots were heard. Cops have launched an investigation – but so far dismissed mafia links. It comes just days after a pregnant woman, grandmother and a child were killed at another Spanish holiday resort. The youngster, whose age has not yet been revealed, his mum and his maternal grandmother all died at the scene.
