Philadelphia Eagles rookie WR Makai Lemon will be “100%” for his first training camp, he told The Philadelphia Inquirer. Lemon missed some time during OTAs with a hamstring injury. The Eagles selected Lemon with the No. 20 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft out of USC. With Philadelphia trading star WR AJ Brown to the New England Patriots, Lemon is expected to step right up to the No. 2 role behind former Heisman winner DeVonta Smith. So now that Lemon is “feeling great,” he’s ready to hit the ground running in Philly. He credited the veteran wide receiver room for learning on the fly, especially while rehabbing. “Just working on my craft, just trying to get the playbook down,” Lemon said. “Just making sure I’m ready so when I go out there, it’s lights out. Just how to take care of your body. Just how to attack your preparation. Every little thing that them guys do, I’m watching closely. I feel like I can learn so much from them boys.” Makai Lemon will be 100% for training camp in Philadelphia Lemon had a solid 2024 season but in 2025, he became one of the premier pass catchers in college football. In 12 games, Lemon caught 79 passes for 1,156 yards, 11 touchdowns, 14.6 yards per catch and also ran nine times, scoring twice on the ground. He should be a shifty and reliable target for Jalen Hurts, who already has guys like Smith and tight end Dallas Goedert to throw to. Not to mention RB Saquon Barkley is in the backfield. Now, the goal is to do something similar at the NFL level. Lemon should transition into the league with quite ease, hoping to impact the offense from Day One. Lemon played high school football at Los Alamitos (CA), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 39 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. The Philadelphia Eagles open their 2026 regular season schedule at home on September 13th at 4:25 p.m. ET. They’ll welcome the Washington Commanders to Philly.
