The mum-of-four, 33, revealed this month that she had given birth after undergoing an emergency C-section – but now claims she has “testicles” of fluid “hanging” from her tummy. In what has clearly been a rough ride for the MAFS alum, she told her social media following how she is still battling severe post natal complications – including “pockets of fluid” in her abdomen. She started her upload by saying for six days she had been experiencing increasing levels of pain in her incision and abdomen. In Gemma’s latest update, she told fans: “36 hours of IV antibiotics and my pockets of fluids in my abdomen have at least doubled in size. “While the doctors hope it will clear itself I am not so confident,” before admitting her scar had started to “leak” fluid. She continued: “I am now on tablet antibiotics but see it being drained. Most read in Showbiz “I have basically testicles hanging from my belly”. A c-section is an operation that allows babies to be delivered through a cut made in the belly and womb. The procedure is often carried out if a vaginal birth is deemed too risky. Caesareans can be life-threatening, so doctors will only recommend it if it’s the safest option for pregnant women and their babies, but possible complications include infection of the wound or womb lining. Gemma’s experience appears to be a very severe after effect and not common among new mothers. In the same post, she went on to praise husband Jordan Bishop for having her back and challenging a medic who she claimed was gaslighting her during her care. After praising her family for lending a hand she added: “We miss our children and our home but this will soon be a distant memory”. Gemma shot to fame on Married At First Sight in 2022.
