HoYoverse has been working on multiple projects as it continues to expand on titles like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail. For example, the upcoming Honkai: Nexus Anima will be a creature-collector RPG with auto-battling systems set in an open-world map that will continue to grow with updates, much like its sister games. During Gamescom 2026’s Opening Night Live showcase, which was broadcast on the official The Game Awards channel on YouTube, a new game developed by HoYoverse was announced: Nodus Fall. The new RPG from the creators of Genshin Impact was presented via a gameplay-centered trailer during the event. Nodus Fall is an action-based RPG with soulslike elements that will feature co-op mechanics, allowing you to explore the world and face enemies, including tough bosses, alongside friends. In Nodus Fall, you’ll take on the role of a character known as a Weaver, and you’ll use powers granted by divine sources to face and fell powerful beasts of legend. The game is a third-person RPG with a variety of weapons and abilities at your disposal. There are some heavy soulslike elements, from character and monster design to gameplay mechanics. This is especially true when looking at some of the enemies that players face in the first trailer, which make it feel similar to Elden Ring. For example, there is a female-presenting character who opens up wings in a way that is extremely reminiscent of Malenia in Elden Ring. There are other monster-like bosses, too, including dragons and gargantuan bear-like creatures. Of course, there are also humanoid enemies, seemingly. This is a high-fantasy game, which inevitably draws a bit from The Lord of the Rings, too, which is where you’ll see the mixture of elements, even if it is steeped in dark fantasy. In addition to the inspiration brought in from Elden Ring and Dark Souls, for instance, there are also elements of Monster Hunter gameplay – in the trailer, for instance, you can see a character use a wire-like tool to latch themselves onto a monster. More details about Nodus Fall have yet to be revealed by HoYoverse, such as its release date and platform availability. Considering how the company operates, however, there will likely be tests before launch. More information about Nodus Fall should be revealed pretty soon, since HoYoverse also tends to make announcements just a little time in advance. This is one of the many RPGs showcased during Gamescom 2026, which also highlighted the free release of Once Human for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
