Launching for the Nintendo Switch 2 on 5 November 2026, it marks the second official The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake, with the first launching back in 2011 for the Nintendo 3DS. With many believing that this could inspire Nintendo to work on remakes of some of the other classic Zelda titles, we can only hope that it is received well by fans. In the meantime, however, Nintendo has announced some exciting DLC set to arrive for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake, but the only catch is that, but in Nintendo fashion, it is not set to arrive until 2027, many months after the launch of the actual game. We recently saw it with the upcoming release of DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, but it seems as though The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake is following suit with the launch of two accompanying Amiibo. Revealed at last week's Legend of Zelda Direct, Nintendo announced new Amiibo figurines to collect, showcasing a young Link and Zelda. With Link joined by Navi, and Zelda serenading herself with the ocarina, the figures themselves are adorable. However, in typical Amiibo fashion, they will come alongside a code which you can scan to unlock some in-game content for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake. In this case, you will receive masks inspired by the polygonal N64 models of the original Link and Zelda, but seeing them in the context of a graphically enhanced game is quite shocking indeed. It is unlikely that equipping these masks will affect gameplay, but it would be cool to see NPCs reacting to them in the very least. Or, maybe there is even an achievement you can earn by wearing them. Not only that, but they serve as Easter eggs to players of the original Ocarina of Time, even if the reminder is pretty frightening. It is currently unclear when these new Amiibo will launch, other than a vague 2027 window, but we can at least expect The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake to arrive for the Nintendo Switch 2 this November, and as one of the highest rated games of all time, we can only hope that the remake lives up to the hype.
