Sharing a glimpse of his experience online, he revealed how much he made on the first day.X user Kaval Desai shared details of his first day on the job, explaining that he was pursuing an LLB degree while taking up delivery work to manage some of his expenses. He described the gig as a part-time arrangement that allowed him to earn alongside his studies.According to Desai, he completed 19 deliveries in approximately six hours and 30 minutes, covering around 51 km for the orders, excluding the distance travelled on return journeys. He earned Rs 508, which included a Rs 75 incentive, along with an additional Rs 100 bonus for meeting a target, taking his total earnings to Rs 608.One advantage, he explained, was that he owned an Ather electric scooter and charged it at home, meaning he did not incur any charging expenses during the shift. He eventually called it a day because he had to return to his studies and his scooter's battery was running low. Desai also shared images alongside his post, including a photograph of the delivery bag he received from Blinkit and a screenshot showing his earnings. He credited the platform's efficiency and smooth working process for making the part-time gig convenient for students like him.Take a look at the post here: This is a part time gig I am doing for some obvious reasons. I’m pursing LLB as my primary profession. Along side working to support some obvious expenses incurred. Day 1 ended on a good note. Ended up delivering 19 orders in ~ 6:30 hours. Did around ~51 kms just for the order delivery (return kms not counted). Earned : 508 (75 incentive included) and 100 as bonus for achieving target. Cost - 0 (I own Ather EV and charging costed me 0 home charging still 0) Had to end the gig due to commitment to studies and at the same time battery was about to die. @letsblinkit @deepigoyal @albinder You guys really made Blinkit a boon for people like me. It’s just so efficient to work with it and it’s smooth too.— Kaval Desai (@thecurious_12) October 13, 2026The post prompted a discussion about the role of gig work in India. One user pointed out that delivery work was meant to function as a part-time earning opportunity, but in India, it was often treated as a full-time profession.Another user shared a personal experience of working as an Uber bike rider and a Swiggy delivery partner, explaining that despite taking up these jobs, they had been unable to arrange the fees required for LLB admission.A third user suggested that catering work could be an alternative for those looking to earn extra money, arguing that it could be less exhausting than spending six hours riding around for deliveries while potentially offering better earnings and access to meals.- Ends
