Krafton is launching BGMI Lite for less powerful phones, pre-registration starting from next week

The company has announced that pre-registration for Battlegrounds Mobile India Lite (BGMI Lite) will begin in India on August 25, giving Android users a chance to sign up ahead of the game's launch later this year.The Lite version is expected to bring the familiar BGMI battle royale experience to a wider range of smartphones, particularly older and more affordable devices. Krafton says the game is still scheduled to launch in India by the end of 2026, although it has not revealed an exact release date yet.For now, Android users will be able to pre-register through the Google Play Store. iPhone users, however, will have to wait. Krafton says it will share details about BGMI Lite's iOS availability and pre-registration at a later date.One detail that immediately stands out is the game's size. Krafton says the initial download will be around 1GB, making BGMI Lite considerably smaller than the standard version of BGMI. The company has not yet confirmed whether players will need to download additional files after installing the game.
