Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy will not play against Auburn after injuring his shoulder, head coach Pete Golding told reporters on Monday afternoon. Lacy left Saturday’s game against Texas following a hard tackle in which he was slammed to the ground. According to a report from The Rebel Walk, the shoulder was dislocated and it is a different injury than his previous knock. Lacy has dealt with multiple injuries this season. He was lifted into the air and slammed down. He did not get up immediately following the play. After the sequence, the ABC broadcast team showed several replays of the hit and noted Kewan Lacy’s previous issues. Sideline reporter Holly Rowe updated the viewers on the problems the Ole Miss back has faced. “Look guys, remember he had that AC joint separation earlier this year against LSU. He had been out for a game, missed that Florida game because of that. He’s been battling a hamstring last week against Missouri. So a lot of different things, but you guys can see this has been a real issue for him as he’s been trying to fight through that. It is the same shoulder that he injured against LSU. He was definitely holding that when he fell to the ground right in front of us.” Kewan Lacy briefly left the team’s 31-3 win over Missouri. The broadcast crew reported he was looking “ginger” after warming up before the game’s kickoff, heading in and out of the medical tent. During the game, Lacy briefly left with a hamstring issue. He would return later in the game, and he finished with one of his best outings of the season, tallying 16 carries for 122 yards and two catches for 11 yards. At the time of his exit from the Texas game, though, Kewan Lacy had been a virtual non-factor. He had 16 carries but for just 36 yards. Ole Miss was trailing and in the process of mounting a comeback when he went out hurt. The comeback ultimately stalled out, and Texas won 34-27. On the season, Lacy had recorded 62 carries for 352 yards and five touchdowns entering Saturday’s contest. That on the heels of a monster 2025, in which he logged 306 carries for 1,567 yards and 24 touchdowns on the ground.
