The original Jurassic Park was an absolute generational masterpiece, but after that, it hosted a series of uneven movies, some of which were bigger hits than others. One thing remains true for most people after witnessing multiple eras of Jurassic Park: dinosaurs are still in. Fans have been clamoring to get Capcom to remake or remaster Dino Crisis series for years, to no avail. I remember fan campaigns dating back to the 2000s, as the franchise has been on ice since 2003. While there are some signs of life, and dinosaur games are still going strong in general, there's one you can play right now for free on Steam. Clawed Is A Brand-New Dinosaur-Based Horror Set for release this month, you can play a free demo of Clawed now on Steam. Taking place at the dinosaur theme park Prehistoria, you'll try to survive as you solve puzzles, discover secrets of the park, and tangle with the exotic wildlife. There are classic and survival modes available (the latter of which adds hunger, thirst, dynamic weather, and a day/night cycle), so you can play as casually or as hardcore as you want. Here's what Flatrock Games has planned: "Embark on a covert mission to the dinosaur theme park Prehistoria, where you must explore the park's grounds to scavenge resources, solve puzzles, and fight your way through diverse biomes, underground tunnels and deadly enclosures. But beware, you are not the apex predator here." If you're planning on going dino-hunting with friends, you'll be able to do that, since Clawed supports co-op play. It was a long road to actually get support for the game mode based on the developmental diaries, but it's slated for release either way. Co-op was added in mid-2025, and the demo has been expanded to more than five hours, offering an extensive look at the park. There's support for up to four players in most modes in the game (including a tourism mode, where you can explore the park before it was in peril. You Can Try Clawed Free On Steam Now The game has seen countless updates since it was originally announced back in 2025, including quality-of-life upgrades for the demo. The team has been transparent about the development process so far, even when they hit some trouble back in March and had to delay the game: The honest truth is we are working really hard to get this right and as we said in our December update, we rebuilt some of the underlying systems after feedback from our demo. It has taken longer than we hoped to iron out some bugs, polish and test them. We also redesigned a couple of the encounters following testing feedback. At this stage of development, there are a lot of moving goalposts, and some of them have caught us completely off guard." You won't have to wait too long to try out Clawed in its final form, either. It's slated to release on Steam on August 13, 2026. Back in July, the game was delayed to August to put on some finishing touches. Brand Valve Original Release Date September 12, 2003
