John Wick is making an official return, and the legendary assassin is coming back with an insane new look. The action franchise is still thriving, even after the release of Chapter 4 in 2023. Since then, the IP has seen the release of Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas, in 2025, and Lionsgate has officially confirmed the production of John Wick 5, with the return of Keanu Reeves to star in the titular role. For now, there isn’t an official release window for the next big core movie in the series, but the hitman is making a return sooner than expected. As was reported by IGN, John Wick is officially returning before any new movie or TV show is released. The iconic comeback for Baba Yaga will come in the form of an update for a video game, and while Wick’s presence in games isn’t exactly new, he will be boasting a never-before-seen look. He’ll be part of an unexpected, yet slightly unsurprising, crossover event, which will allow you to see and play with him in a new light. According to the report, John Wick is making a comeback in the form of an update for Fortnite. While the iconic character had already been released as a skin in the popular battle royale, he is returning with a brand-new The Simpsons skin. Yes, you read that correctly. The new Fortnite crossover with The Simpsons will see Springfield return to the map rotation with Reload, and this time around, John Wick will be the main character – in his new and instantly iconic Simpsons form. The new collab event between the franchises will see the return of several iconic Springfield locations to the Reload mode’s map, as well as the introduction of a new area called The Confidential. In here, players are in a neutral zone that passively heals them, according to IGN. However, if players choose to break peace inside The Confidential – a reference to the iconic The Continental hotel in John Wick – they will be marked for all players to see. The Simpsonified John Wick skin is a bonus reward for owners of the Battle Pass who complete Reload-specific missions. The cosmetic is already available as of today, July 30. This updated version of Reload will be able to host up to 50 players. Springfield will lock down the map rotation until August 3, when two other maps join it. In addition to the new take on the hitman, there are new Simpsons-adjacent items to use as you explore the map in Reload and face other players – or rest in The Confidential. Seeing how much Fortnite and The Simpsons have already done in terms of crossovers, it’s not so shocking that something of the kind would come out of it, but it’s still a bit surprising to see John Wick’s return happening this way.
