2 min readWalton Goggins may have just said goodbye to Fallout. Though Prime Video hasn’t made any announcements yet about wrapping production on the upcoming third season, Goggins posted a video to social media on Thursday, October 29, that alludes to the end of his time on the video game adaptation. At least, that’s what we think it means...“Just took it off for the last time.. Season 3… Gatdamn this felt good,” Goggins captioned a video of himself driving through the California desert, lip-syncing to “Ramble On” by Led Zeppelin. “I wish this road or this song would never end,” he continued. “Gonna miss you California… til the next time. #Fallout.”While it’s clear that Goggins is finished with season 3, his phrasing implies that he’s wrapped on Fallout entirely. “Just took it off for the last time” sounds like a permanent goodbye for The Ghoul—his gun-slinging character from the Fallout series who is transformed into a post-apocalyptic mutant. His caption could also imply that Fallout season 3 marks the end of the series, though that would be a bit of a stretch considering the show’s sustained popularity and acclaim. Prime Video has yet to comment.Whatever Goggins means by “the last time,” at least we know now that Fallout season 3 is closer than ever. It’s been a long year since season 2 premiered on Prime Video, with the finale releasing in January earlier this year.Fans are dying to see what will become of Lucy (Ella Purnell), Maximus (Aaron Moten), and everyone’s favorite noseless bounty hunter. In the season 2 finale, Lucy’s father, Hank (Kyle MacLachlan), triggered a switch that made him lose all memory of himself and his time at Vault-Tec. That couldn’t have come at a worse time, as Caesar’s imposing Legion approaches the ruins of New Vegas. As for Goggins’ Cooper Howard, he’s on his way to Colorado, chasing the slim chance his family may still be alive. In January, Goggins told Esquire that Cooper is in the pursuit of hope, odds be damned. “What happens [to the Ghoul] is what happens to all of us, which is we hope," he said. "Even before we had language, [we had hope] of finding warmth or shelter or what's on the other side of that rock. That's just who we are as people.”Let’s hope that Goggins’ time on Fallout isn’t the end. But if it is, he better get the greatest send-off we’ve ever seen on television.
