So when I’m lining up now, of course, I take it as serious as I can, but the fear is gone. There’s just enjoyment in it.” When is he next competing? Jeremiah Azu is competing tonight (Tuesday, July 28) at the 2026 Commonwealth Games at Scotstoun Stadium in Glasgow. Azu kicked off his Commonwealth campaign in style on July 27, cruising through Heat 3 of the Men’s 100m round one with a comfortable time of 10.10 seconds to seal his spot in the next stage. He is widely tipped to reach the final, and as a global indoor champion and Olympic medallist, enters the semi-finals as one of the standout contenders. He faces stiff competition from high-calibre rivals including Ghana‘s Benjamin Azamati, Jamaica’s Ackeem Blake, and defending champion Ferdinand Omanyala of Kenya. If Azu executes his signature explosive start, he stands a very strong chance of challenging for a spot on the podium. The Men’s 100m semi-finals are expected to kick off around 6.30pm.
