Iranian foreign minister speaks to Saudi and Qatari counterparts in separate calls

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi spoke to his Saudi and Qatari counterparts in separate phone calls on Thursday, as they discussed the "latest progress" in diplomatic efforts to establish stability in the region, the Iranian foreign ministry said. Talks between Riyadh and Tehran have continued, even while Saudi-backed forces remain locked in combat with the Iran-aligned Houthi movement in Yemen. The Houthis have also struck targets in Saudi Arabia itself. Qatar has been mediating between the US and Iran in an effort to end the war begun by Israel and the US in February.
