Industries in 10 districts in Karnataka to be paid ₹2,500 for every job generated

The sops will be provided for years, and the companies could utilise the financial assistance to pay provident fund of employees among others, Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara said on Wednesday. “Even existing industries can also use the assistance by creating employment. The government has earmarked ₹300 crore for the scheme. Guidelines will be announced soon,” he added. Among the non-developed districts identified for the scheme are Yadgir, Bidar, Raichur, Koppal, Kalaburagi, Vijayanagara, Gadag, Haveri, and Vijayapura. Labour housingTo encourage industries to provide housing for the labour force near their workplace, the government has also approved “Shramika Nivas” by offering subsidy/financial assistance to industries that provide housing to labour. The scheme is applicable for all industries. “The distance criteria will be spelt out in guidelines. The scheme will enable the labour force to stay closer to the workplace. The government hopes that about 10,000 houses will be built by the industries for workers,” Dr. Parameshwara said, adding that it would be applicable to industries already functioning. “If new industries seek more land to provide housing closer to the industry, it will be provided.” Published - September 10, 2026 12:40 am IST
