Honda has priced the ADV160 at Rs 1.70 lakh, making it India's first E85-compatible scooter.Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has announced the price of the ADV160, making it the country's first E85-compatible scooter. The adventure-style maxi-scooter has been priced at Rs 1.70 lakh (ex-showroom), with bookings now open across India.The ADV160 is part of Honda's newly announced 10-product Made-in-India portfolio and marks one of the company's biggest steps towards alternative-fuel-ready two-wheelers in India. The scooter will be manufactured locally and exported to international markets.Bookings for the Honda ADV160 are open for a token amount of Rs 5,000 through Honda's official website and authorised dealerships. Deliveries are scheduled to begin from mid-October 2026.India's first E85-ready scooterThe biggest highlight of the ADV160 is its E85-compatible engine. The scooter is powered by a 157cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled petrol engine that produces 16.3bhp and 14.9Nm, with power sent to the rear wheel through a CVT. The engine can run on fuel containing up to 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent petrol. This makes the ADV160 the first scooter in India designed to operate on E85 fuel and gives Honda a foothold in the country's emerging flex-fuel ecosystem.The move is part of Honda's broader multi-pathway strategy, which includes petrol, electric and flex-fuel technologies. As India expands the availability of higher ethanol-blended fuels, the ADV160 could offer buyers an alternative to conventional petrol-powered scooters.Adventure-style design The ADV160 takes design inspiration from Honda's larger X-ADV crossover scooter. It gets sharp bodywork, twin LED headlamps, a tall adjustable windscreen and block-pattern tyres.An upright riding position, increased ground clearance and larger wheels are intended to make the scooter more capable on broken roads, while its compact dimensions retain the practicality required for everyday urban riding. Honda describes the ADV160 as a "City Adventure" scooter, combining commuting ability with touring and light off-road capability.Features of the Honda ADV160Honda has equipped the ADV160 with a fairly premium feature list. It gets a full-colour TFT instrument cluster with Honda RoadSync smartphone connectivity, allowing riders to access navigation and communication-related functions.The scooter also comes with Honda Selectable Torque Control, which functions as a traction-control system, along with single-channel ABS. A USB charging socket is also included.Practicality comes from a 27-litre underseat storage compartment, which can accommodate everyday luggage and a full-face helmet.Honda ADV160: Dimensions and hardwareThe ADV160 uses telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers. Braking is handled by a front disc brake with single-channel ABS.It rides on a 14-inch front wheel and a 13-inch rear wheel, a combination aimed at offering better stability over uneven surfaces without compromising manoeuvrability in city traffic.The scooter weighs 133kg and has a 780mm seat height. Ground clearance stands at 165mm, while the fuel tank has a capacity of 8.1 litres.When can you buy the Honda ADV160?Bookings for the Honda ADV160 are already open across India for Rs 5,000.
