IHG has begun testing AI-powered conversational search on its U.S. site and app, the company announced Tuesday. Travelers in the test can describe a trip in ordinary language, including destination, purpose, preferences and amenities, and get tailored recommendations with interactive maps, live availability, pricing and property details. IHG's traditional search form will run alongside the AI option during the beta, which starts in the U.S. before expanding to other markets. Access is being rolled out at random to U.S. users — anyone on IHG.com or the app may encounter it, regardless of whether they are an IHG One Rewards member.
